Health Program

Phoenix Association launched the caring programme at Wai-bargi Hospital as from 2006 to care for needy HIV patients without attendants. Now, free services are provided round the clock in caring for HIV patients at Mingaladon Specialists Hospital.

The association is also providing free funeral services for the patients who die at hospital. In pursuance of its programme to care for HIV positive patients, since September 2012, it has been providing patients with free services such as ART (medicine for control the spread of HIV), counselling service, providing home healthcare, nutritious feeds, cash assistance for funeral services, travelling allowance, giving HIV test.

In addition, it has opened boarders to provide free accommodation for HIV/AIDS patients from the country and makes contacts with related health centres for the patients to receive medical treatment.

Moreover, Counselling and Peer Support Activities have been working with the Decentralization Program of National AIDS Program (NAP) since 2016 with the support of ICAP (Columbia University), currently working in Hlaing Thar Yar Township General Hospital and two decentralized sites in there.
